How to grow

There is nothing particularly difficult in growing peach-like tomatoes - they are grown just like any other varieties.

A short instruction-algorithm will help a novice gardener:

  1. The seeds are pre-soaked in a manganese solution or other disinfectant. Zeta tomato seeds should be germinated on a saucer under a damp cloth.
  2. After pecking, the seeds are sown in the ground. You can purchase a ready-made soil mixture for seedlings of tomatoes and peppers, or prepare it yourself from turf, humus and sand. Tomato seeds are not buried deep in the ground - a maximum of 1 cm.
  3. Water the tomatoes carefully so that water does not get on the leaves and stem. They take warm water for irrigation.
  4. Dive tomatoes Peach should be in the stage of a pair of leaves. This step is very important as the transplant stimulates the root system and forces it to branch out.
  5. When the seedlings grow 7-8 true leaves, they can be planted in the ground or in a greenhouse. Tomatoes are usually 50-60 days old by this time.
  6. The Peach planting scheme is usual for determinants - 3-4 bushes per square meter. It is better to plant the bushes in a checkerboard pattern, leaving an interval of about 40 cm between adjacent tomatoes. In row spacings 70-80 cm are left - for easy care and watering of tomatoes.
  7. Mineral fertilizer, humus, compost or mullein are placed in each hole before planting. Sprinkle fertilizer with a layer of earth, water it, then transfer the seedlings.
  8. If the ground is not yet warm enough (colder than 15 degrees), you need to use a film shelter. The film is removed gradually so that the tomatoes get used to the air temperature.
  9. You can water planted tomatoes only after a week, when they get stronger.
Advice! A couple of weeks before planting tomatoes, it is recommended to scatter fertilizer over the area and dig up the ground. You can additionally water the soil with a solution of copper sulfate to get rid of viruses and pests.

The best site for planting Peach tomatoes will be the place where carrots, legumes, zucchini or cucumbers grew last year. You should not plant seedlings where there were tomatoes or potatoes.

It is better to choose a cloudy day for planting seedlings, or take up tomatoes in the late afternoon, when the sun is no longer beating down.

Tomato care

Peach is an unpretentious variety, but minimal care for these tomatoes is still necessary. In the process of cultural development, you will need:

  1. Abundant, but not frequent watering. Water must be poured at the root so as not to wet the tomato leaves. Water the tomato early in the morning or after sunset.
  2. The greenhouse must be ventilated, and the edges must be raised at the temporary shelter.
  3. Every one and a half to two weeks, the soil under the tomatoes is fertilized with mineral complexes or organic matter. Stop feeding during the period of fruit formation.
  4. The bush is formed into one stem, in the future, the stepsons do not break off.
  5. If there are a lot of fruits, and they are concentrated on one side of the bush, you will have to tie the tomato to a support or on a trellis. Usually tomato Peach does not need tying.
  6. Although the variety is resistant to diseases, it is better to carry out preventive treatment of the bushes. This is done before the stage of fruit ripening.
  7. It is better to mulch the soil between the bushes, so moisture in the ground will persist much longer.

The first crop of multi-colored Peaches is harvested at the end of July, the fruiting of the tomato continues until mid-autumn (weather permitting). In the southern regions or in a greenhouse, even two generations of this tomato variety can be grown.

Feedback

Victoria, 48 years old, Tver
I liked this tomato, although many people talk about such a disadvantage as shaggy skin. The skin was not bitter or tough, it tasted quite normal when you eat a tomato, nothing pricks or interferes. The pulp is very sweet, leaves some kind of fruity aftertaste - very unusual and tasty tomatoes. The bushes grew in a greenhouse, their height was about 180 cm. There are a lot of fruits on them, everything is about the same size - 100-120 grams. This year I planted Peach Yellow, now I want to try a hybrid of Raspberry and Red Peach.
